Q: Will Martial Arts / Muay Thai make my child/children more aggressive?
A: Students are taught that the martial arts are not to be used in aggression, but to build
self confidence to speak up for yourself or someone in need of help and solve issues peacefully. Using martial arts as self defense should always be the last option. Aggressive behavior is channeled into assertiveness to increase your child’s self esteem, increase self discipline and build character. Martial arts also helps the shy child to develop self confidence and become more assertive.
Q: Will my child/children get hurt?
A: Not a chance! Nobody is going to punch you, kick you, or throw you to the ground. The rules of safety are always observed in our classroom! You have a higher chance of getting hurt playing basketball. So you can look at it as any other contact sport.
Q: Can my child/children take martial arts class with no experience?
A: Yes! Martial arts / Muay Thai is a great way to improve your health and overall physical fitness, no matter what your starting point is. Our personalized curriculum allows students to progress at their own pace, making our programs ideal for people of all ages and skill levels as well as those in less than ideal physical shape, we encourage everyone to go at their own pace.
Q: Will they be fighting/sparring each other? Will there be contacts?
A: Absolutely not, only contact they will have with each other is during fitness activities like
"high five" or supervised light contacts only. For executing strikes will be done in forms or padwork with the instructor. We took out the language "FIGHT" in all of our kids/youth classes at our school. We do not condone fights or things of that nature unless it's for competition or only under certain circumstances where you really have to defend yourself. We tell our students once you use what they learned from us outside the school for wrong reason, we make it clear that they will no longer be able to participate in our program.
